Class of Nuke'em High: **1/2

There are many movies in history that have been produced by small studios, on small budgets, with un-famous directors, and an un-famous cast, to bring in a small profit. Such is the case for Lloyd Kaufman, who in his lifetime has produced 81 films, and has directed 35 of them, (almost) all of them shot and distributed for the purpose of making a quick-buck. But there is great joy in watching these films, as the carelessness of them are an enjoyable feature. The film I watched was created off the success of an earlier Troma-film production, The Toxic Avenger. Nuke' Em High did have success, inspiring two sequels and a TV show, and it pains me to say that this movie cannot be reviewed as drama, or as comedy. It is, in its essence, quite like a Muppet movie; it was created to make fun of something, was never was supposed to make sense, and (almost) every plot-hole cannot be under harsh criticism. Take for example, when the man in charge of the nuclear power plant blames one high school student's death on the fact he had two microwaves. It's moments like these that you cannot take this movie serioulsy, and instead take it for fun moment. As a  drama, this would get a .5 star rating, as a comedy, maybe 1 star. But if you were to see it as one man's way of putting a mirror to Hollywood and saying, "Hollywood, look at yourself. No seriously, look", then you can understand why I'm giving this movie 2.5 stars.

Welcome

Hello. I am CitizenB. And I am here to do the one thing I love: review movies (and the occasional TV show). And who knows. Maybe someone might actually read them.
